Research Interests

My main research focus is on advanced modeling, control, and optimization of energy systems, particularly in battery technologies, renewable integration, and intelligent energy management, specifically:

  • Battery Modeling and Management Physics-based and data-driven modeling, health diagnostics, state estimation, and fast charging control for lithium-ion, solid-state, and second-life batteries.
  • Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies System-level modeling, performance optimization, and degradation assessment of PEM fuel cells and hydrogen production/storage in integrated energy systems.
  • Energy Storage Systems and Grid Integration Design and optimization of battery energy storage systems for grid support, frequency control, renewable dispatchability, microgrid applications, and model predictive control for integrated power systems.
  • AI and Machine Learning for Energy Systems Application of machine learning, reinforcement learning, and hybrid physics-AI methods in battery/fuel cell state estimation, control, and health/degradation predictive analytics.
  • Smart Grid and Electrification Intelligent energy management, smart EV charging, demand response, and infrastructure planning for next-generation electrified and resilient grids.
